WWE News: Anonymous RAW General Manager Could Be Here To Stay

Back in 2010 WWE went away from having a physical authority figure on Monday Night RAW and began to have an anonymous general manager who would send his orders via e-mail. Long story short, WWE fans hated it.

This past Monday on RAW, the anonymous general manager made his return as RAW was going off the air. When the e-mail notification noise sounded, and it was revealed that the podium and computer were at ringside, the crowd in Indianapolis began to groan.

The anonymous RAW general manager stated that next week’s RAW would be known as “cyber Monday,” which means that WWE fans will have a chance to impact every one of the matches that take place on next Monday’s RAW via the WWE app.

Back in July of 2012, the identity of the anonymous RAW general manager was revealed, and it turned out to be Hornswoggle. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE is hoping that their fans have forgotten that Honrswoggle was revealed as the anonymous RAW general manager and will become intrigued with WWE’s idea to bring back the anonymous RAW GM.

In that same report by Meltzer, he noted that WWE could make the anonymous RAW general manager the authority figure on all of the WWE shows as WWE doesn’t have any plans to bring someone in and make them the new on-screen authority figure.

Before the Survivor Series event took place this past Sunday, WWE fans speculated on who would be the new authority figure for WWE should Team Authority lose to Team Cena, and the name that was thrown around the most was WWE hall of famer Mick Foley. In a recent blog, Foley talked about why he shouldn’t be the new on-screen authority figure for WWE.

There was also rumors of Sting becoming the new on-screen authority figure for WWE. However, that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen as Sting will be making sporadic appearances on WWE television from now until WrestleMania 31 to hype his match with Triple H at the Royal Rumble and to hype his match with Undertaker at WrestleMania 31.

So, in other words, WWE didn’t learn their lesson on the anonymous general manager storyline the first time around. So, due to the fact that they don’t want to bring someone in to fill that role, they’re giving the anonymous GM storyline another run, and even though it’ll likely be short-lived, there’s no question that this will be a huge turn off for WWE fans.
