Dutch Mom Braves The Dangers Of The Islamic State And Rescues Her Daughter

When it comes to the treatment of women in the Middle East, news outlets report how Islamic terrorists, especially the Islamic State, take an objectified approach that is very dehumanizing. The Inquisitr reported on such cases, with examples of women submitting of their own free will or being enslaved to degradation. By free will, two Austrian girls became wives to jihadi terrorists, a move that they now regret. Despite the result, the Austrian girls had freedom of choice unlike thousands of Yazidi women who are taken as sexual slaves. They have such a dire existence that one of them even begged the West to bomb her and her brothel.

Such reports are truly disheartening. However, there are new reports that shows a parent’s love for their child is stronger than any terrorist threat, as a Dutch mother risked her life to save her daughter from IS terrorists!

According to an article by the Telegraph and followed up by the New York Post, it reports that a mother, named only Monique, defied official warnings to travel to the Syrian city of Raqqa to rescue her daughter Aicha from the clutches of Islamic State terrorists. Though the endeavor’s danger would be paramount, Monique was successful.

“Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. This is what I think is right.”

Originally, Monique went to police authorities last month appealing to them for help in rescuing her daughter. It is reported that the appeal resulted in the authorities giving an official warning to Monique not to attempt rescuing Aicha. Their reason is because how dangerous such an endeavor would be. Also, Monique was told about her daughter probably being charged with the criminal offense of “provision of assistance” to jihadists. Nevertheless, their dire warnings were not enough as Monique knew her daughter wanted out.

“She wanted to go home, but could not leave Raqqa without help.”

Monique discussed plans via Facebook to her daughter on an escape plan. First, Monique traveled from Turkey to Raqqa, which is now the self-styled capital of the Islamic State. To blend in with the crowd, she wore a burka. Second, Monique met up with Aicha at a rendezvous point. Third, both mother and daughter would cross the Syrian border back into Turkey. However, there was one little snag in the rescue attempt: Aicha was lacking a passport resulting in her arrest.

Now the Dutch foreign ministry are intervening to bring the mother and daughter back from Turkey. In conclusion, the mother’s success in saving her daughter is amazing as explained by the family lawyer, Françoise Landerloo.

“It is quite remarkable that the mother managed to find and get her daughter.”

Now that you’ve read the article on Monique and the success she had saving her daughter, what are your opinions about it? Do you think that Monique was expressing unconditional love with such an act or should she have left the situation to the authorities?
