Amy Duggar Plans To Pursue Country Music Career In Nashville, Could Get Spin-Off Series [Video]
Fans of the TLC hit series 19 Kids and Counting can rejoice. In addition to the growing Duggar clan having a spot on their televisions, fans may now be able to hear a Duggar on their radios. Amy Duggar, cousin to the large clan of Jim Bob and Michelle, is working on starting a country music career in Nashville.
The Tennessean reports that cousin Amy Duggar has been considering a move to Nashville to pursue her dream of becoming a country music star. Amy visited Music City in the fall to tape an episode of 19 Kids & Counting, entitled “Amy’s Nashville Dreams.” The show will air at 8 pm tonight on TLC.
While in Nashville, Amy filmed scenes around Nashville and parts of her new music video for her song “Beautiful Weather” at Black River Entertainment. Amy told the Tennessean that there is a “pretty good possiblity” of her moving to Music City.
“I’m thinking there’s a pretty good possibility of me moving to Nashville. I don’t really know what’s going to happen, but if there’s any (record) label interest, I’d probably have to. Another chapter in my life is starting.”
TLC also released an exclusive video of one of Amy’s Nashville interviews. In the video you see Amy singing for a chance to earn a deal with a record label.
Though Amy is used to being filmed for the reality television series, she told People Magazine she was still very nervous performing for a room full of music executives.
“I was so scared.”
Amy Duggar did say that the Duggar name won’t get her far in Nashville.
“I like the fact that the Duggar name doesn’t play any kind of part in Nashville. It’s more about like, ‘Well, can you sing?'”
With a budding music career, Amy Duggar has said she would be open to her own reality spin-off series. If her latest episode has good enough ratings, Amy thinks there may be a chance of an offer being placed on the table for the solo Duggar.
“Obviously that’s up to the network. We’re excited for the catch-up for me, and we’re excited about the future. It looks like it could be promising.”
