Katie Holmes Is Panicking Over Daughter Suri’s Christmas List
It’s hard to imagine Katie Holmes as a regular mom, especially after all the drama she’s gone through in the years following her separation and subsequent divorce from Tom Cruise. However, with the holiday season upon us, Holmes admitted that she freaks out like all the other moms.
According to Katie, there’s absolutely no room for mistakes when it comes to pleasing Suri Cruise. Holmes told Ellen DeGeneres that she’s afraid she wouldn’t measure up to her child’s meticulously planned Christmas list. The anxiety-inducing holiday season is something Holmes fears might cause her daughter years of therapy if she doesn’t get everything just right.
The 35-year-old actress told DeGeneres. “We are getting ready for Christmas in my house. My daughter’s 8-years-old, and she already has her Christmas list ready. It’s written out. She’s very organized.”
She continued, “I start to, like, get a little bit of a panic because you cannot screw up talking to Santa. You cannot miss any item on that list, because if you screw that up, that’s years and years of hearing about it, and then probably therapy.”

So what’s on Suri Cruise’s Christmas list? According to Holmes her daughter is “practical,” but also “very specific.” Katie gave Ellen an example, and now we can officially say that we don’t envy the mom and her task that she has.
“Like, ‘I want a puppy, and then I want a pink collar that has sparkles on it that says the puppy’s name. Then I want shoes for the dog…Then I want a purple clip.’ Like, it’s all very detailed.”
There’s rare occurrences where the actress will open up about her life as a mom. The last time that grabbed headlines was during press for her film The Giver. The actress the TODAY show’s Matt Lauer that she is trying to give her daughter some semblance of normalcy.
“Of course you try your best. I try very hard because I’m very grateful for my upbringing, my parents, my siblings. I try to do what they did for me for my little one.”
At the time she said, “The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and her accomplishments mean everything. Whatever I do is whatever. It’s really just about her. That’s what I think is most important.”
