‘Pan’ Movie Pics Gives First Look At Hugh Jackman As Blackbeard

Warner Bros. has held out for a long time, but the studio has finally given the first images from the upcoming film Pan, the origin story of Peter Pan. With that, fans get their first look at Hugh Jackman as the evil and villainous Blackbeard, and he looks awesome in all his twirled-mustache glory.

Entertainment Weekly gave forth the first pictures from the film, and they look quite awesome. Jackman is going to be a perfect Blackbeard, and young Levi Miller appears to have nailed the look of Peter Pan, the boy from Neverland.

Pan doesn’t officially hit theaters until next summer, but production began on the film some time ago, and there has been nothing from it so far. Jackman has tweeted photos here and there of him preparing for the role with his mustache and such, but nothing more.

Also, those pics were always of him off the set or even in Walt Disney World, but nothing as far as the film was concerned.

Hugh Jackman has also put forth a lot of effort and time into preparing for his role as Blackbeard. It honestly seems as if this is the role he’s become more engrossed in over any other ever.

MovieWeb revealed that in the film, Blackbeard and his horde of bad guys have been kidnapping orphans, and one of those is someone you wouldn’t expect to get caught. That’s right, they are actually able to kidnap and hold Peter Pan (Miller) hostage for their evil plans.

This, in turn, is how the entire film comes to be, as it will tell the tale of how Peter Pan grew up from a captured orphan to the savior of Neverland. As you can see in the main image, Peter Pan is a young boy and scared of Blackbeard. Once he learns who he truly can be, he goes on to be the hero shown in the poster.

Pan takes the story from J.M. Barrie and changes things up a bit, and actually doesn’t have Captain Hook as the main villain. Well, he’s in it, and played by Garrett Hedlund, but he’s not a captain or an old surly hook-handed bad guy. No, he’s quite the dashing fellow and one that won’t be unlike any you’re used to seeing.

Joe Wright, director of Pan, says that “This isn’t exactly the Neverland story you know.”

Pan will hit theaters on July 17, 2015, during a crowded summer of huge releases from numerous studios.
