Body Of Missing Mother Found Naked And Bloody At Philadelphia Shopping Mall
The body of missing mother Crystal Goodwin was found naked and bloody outside of a Philadelphia shopping mall on Sunday afternoon. Goodwin was released from prison on Tuesday and she disappeared the next day.
Crystal Goodwin’s body was found near a Columbus Commons mall warehouse. The missing mother reportedly had an extensive rap sheet for theft and drug possession and a history of substance addiction. The body of the missing mother was found just before 2 p.m. after relatives reportedly identified the deceased.
A man happened upon the naked and bloody body of the missing mother in a pile of weeds near the Philadelphia shopping mall and called the police. The man who found Crystal Goodwin told CBS Philly that the woman had a laceration on the right side of her rib cage. Paramedics pronounced the missing mom dead at the scene. “As a parent and as a human being it’s senseless. It’s just horrifying,” said Carol Lanni, creator of Taking Our South Philly Streets Back.
Relatives of the missing Philadelphia mom told the media that she had battled substance abuse addiction for many years and are convinced that she was murdered. In a tragic twist in the missing woman case, Crystal Goodwin’s family was on the way to mall to purchase Thanksgiving items when the body was discovered. Just a few minutes after the medical examiner removed the missing mother’s body from the scene, Goodwin’s incredibly distraught mother arrived at the mall.

The family members approached the police officers after learning what was going on and gave them photos of Goodwin and her tattoos in order to determine an identity match. “Is it a girl? Is it a girl? Is it my daughter? No, no, don’t tell,” the emotional and visibly shaken mother of Crystal Goodwin cried at the crime scene. The missing woman has been described as between 34 and 40 years old.
Lydia Callsen, the mother of Goodwin’s boyfriend, told the media that the couple have a young daughter together. Philadelphia police officer’s have not yet ruled Crystal Goodwin’s death a homicide, but the family remains convinced that she was a victim of foul play. Police investigators are reviewing the surveillance video from a nearby store to see if the footage could produce any leads in the case.
