Kate Middleton Wants To Find Prince Harry A Cute Companion For Christmas
Kate Middleton doesn’t want her bachelor brother-in-law to spend next year being lonely, so she’s come up with the perfect Christmas present for Prince Harry: a yellow Labrador. It’s no Chelsy or Cressida, but it is a cute blonde.
Unfortunately, the Daily Mail claims that the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t looking for a rescue dog. Instead, Kate Middleton will visit breeder Drakeshead Labradors later this month. Kate is waiting to check out a litter of puppies set to arrive at the end of November.
However, Middleton won’t pick Prince Harry’s puppy — she’s going to take Harry with her to visit the pups so that he can find his perfect match. An insider told the Daily Mail that the Duchess of Cambridge got the puppy idea after seeing how much fun Harry has with Lupo, the Cocker Spaniel that Will and Kate welcomed to their family in 2011. The insider revealed that Kate Middleton doesn’t mind puppysitting whenever her brother-in-law can’t spend time with his new furry friend, and she thinks that Lupo will enjoy having a canine companion.
“Apparently she is willing to look after the dog if Harry has to go abroad for Royal duties or with the Army.”
Will and Kate are allegedly worried that “Harry gets lonely living on his own,” and the prince might be feeling a little lonelier than usual now that he and on-again, off-again girlfriend Cressida Bonas have called it quits yet again. But a cute puppy wouldn’t just serve as a companion for those lonely Kensington Palace nights — taking care of the loyal royal pet would force the hard-partying prince to be a little more responsible.
It’s not surprising that Kate Middleton and Prince William believe that Prince Harry would benefit from taking care of a puppy. The royal couple’s family plan began with Lupo, and now they’re about to welcome their second child. They know how rewarding being responsible for another life can be, so perhaps they’re trying to pass this joy on to Prince Harry.
Harry does seem to have a way with man’s four-legged friends. According to People, the prince once took a break from a polo match to nuzzle Lupo’s nose, and the royal is a supporter of Canine Partners, an organization that trains service dogs for the disabled.
