Bills-Jets Game Moved To Detroit, And It’s Free Of Charge

The game between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets that was originally scheduled for Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium has been moved to Detroit, and it will take place on Monday. Plus, those who want to attend can do so free of charge.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the heavy snowstorm in Buffalo prompted the NFL to relocate the Bills-Jets game. Orchard Park, where Ralph Wilson Stadium is located, has been covered in seven feet of snow, and a travel ban has been placed for the next several days. Other places the NFL sought to move the game were Pittsburgh and Washington D.C.

According to the Associated Press, via USA Today, Detroit Lions’ Ford Field will be the new location for the Bills-Jets game, and it will start at 7 p.m. ET. Those who had previously purchased tickets to the game can use them for the new location. The Bills also announced that season ticket holders and those who purchased tickets for the original game will be given a full refund, even if the tickets are not used for the rescheduled game.

Tickets for the Bills-Jets game were made available Saturday on the Detroit Lions website via Flash Seats. Those who were unable to get tickets can pick up some at Ford Field, where a limited amount will be on sale between 10 am and 3 pm on Sunday.

The reason for the game being played on Monday in Detroit is because Bills players have not been able to practice due to the extreme weather conditions. According to Reuters, the NFL issued a statement saying the decision to move the game to Monday was so the team could have more time to get prepared.

“While Ford Field could have hosted the game on Sunday, in order to give the Bills as much practice time as possible under the circumstances, the decision to play on Monday night was made.”

Buffalo Bills President Russ Brandon also announced that season ticket holders will get “preferred seating” at the game in Detroit. And, so far, it looks like a lot of people will be in attendance.

While Brandon is expecting a lot of Bills fans in Detriot, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is hoping for the opposite.

“I don’t know who’s going to be at the game. I hope there are a lot of Jets fans.”
