‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ Crash Fix Suggests Players Remove All Contacts From Co-op Games

After researching an issue that is causing players to experience a full client crash in Assassin’s Creed Unity, Ubisoft believes they may have found a temporary workaround that can help users prevent the bug that has left some fans unable to play. This particular error in question is causing Assassin’s Creed Unity to crash when the option to continue is selected from the main menu.

While no immediate remedy has been found to help those already affected by the issue, Ubisoft believes they have discovered precautionary measures that players who have not yet encountered the bug can take in order to prevent it from happening, and the solution may sound odd.

Despite adding a large cooperative multiplayer feature to the popular franchise for the first time, Ubisoft is now suggesting that Assassin’s Creed Unity users avoid using game contacts found within the title’s co-op features. The developer suggests that players refrain from adding any recent in-game players to their contacts list. Those who already have players stored as contacts should delete them from their Assassin’s Creed Unity data.

To remove users from the in-game contact list, players need to access the My Brotherhood option form the options menu. From there, they simply need to navigate to My Contacts and then select each user they have stored under game contacts and follow the on-screen prompts to delete.

Ubisoft believes that removing all contacts from the game will prevent users from experiencing the client crash from the main menu of Assassin’s Creed Unity, regardless of platform. The developer is asking fans to submit a ticket to Ubisoft’s official support website if they still run into the issue after performing the steps above. The team is trying to collect all the data that they can in order to be able to both prevent the bug from happening in the future as well as offer a fix to those who have already been affected by the crash.

In addition to experience numerous in-game bugs, Assassin’s Creed Unity fans may also experience connectivity issues as Ubisoft’s online servers are currently being stressed by the large numbers of gamers accessing them. As the Inquisitr reported earlier in the week, the developer’s personal servers are fighting to deal with unusually high usage after the recent launch of Far Cry 4. The release has added even more stress to the network.
