WWE News: Seth Rollins Says He And Dean Ambrose Will Main Event WWE For A Long Time

If you ask any WWE fan, whether they are young or old, who the future of WWE is in….they’ll usually give you two names – Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Both men have had arguably the rivalry of 2014, and fans couldn’t be happier with the potential WWE has for the future with guys like this as well as the stacked roster in NXT. The normal guys like Randy Orton and John Cena are at the top currently, but both men are getting older and will have to eventually call it quits.

Meanwhile, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are under 30 years of age and could be around WWE for another 10 to 15 years. It seems that Rollins is more than open enough to say that he is not going anywhere. He believes both he and Dean Ambrose will main event the WWE for years to come.

Rollins recently sat down with ESPN Grantland to talk about his run in WWE and the future. When asked about why his rivalry with Ambrose was cut short a bit, Rollins feels that he and Ambrose have time to continue their rivalry down the line. He claimed…

“We both know that we’re lifers, that we’re in this for the long haul. We both know that we’re going to be main-event players for years to come, and we both know what our capabilities are in the ring and with each other. So it’s not something we need to say out loud. We just go about our business and we know the opportunities are going to be there for us moving forward.”

When asked about The Shield and what he learned from Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose when working with them, Rollins said…

“From Roman, the main thing I picked up was his presence. He’s the kind of guy that can walk into a room and take the attention away from everybody in there. All eyes just go to him. I don’t know if that’s something he can teach – that’s sometimes just something you’re born with – but you can take notes. I paid a lot of attention to that.

“And Ambrose – he’s a quirky individual. His thought process as he approaches big matches and big promos – big moments, I guess you would say – is very interesting. You’ll never find a student of the game who gets in any deeper than Ambrose. I said that it’s hard for me to just sit down and watch wrestling, but he loves it. He’ll go back and find crazy stuff all the time. I remember at one point during our Shield run, he was watching some kind of crazy European stuff for no reason. I was like, ‘What is that?’ It was some crazy black-and-white stuff and he was just in there having a great time. I picked up lots of little things from each of them, and I think it helped all of us as individual performers.”

You can tell that Rollins has adapted a bit in his WWE career. Going from his run out of FCW and NXT then seeing what he can do now, you can tell that he learned a bit from Roman and Dean. All three Shield members had something special individually. That was why they were so fun to see together. Each were a threat alone, but together they were almost unstoppable. That was the fun in The Shield for many.

What many love today versus years past was that many current WWE Superstars and Divas aren’t happy with just making a paycheck. They all know they can get paid great in WWE, but if they speak up or try harder, they can be stars and make even more money. No one wants to settle and be happy with the mid-card position. All the new guys want to be on top and they want to be THE MAN.

While WWE might be crowning Reigns as the next big guy, Rollins and Ambrose aren’t going to step back and let him just have it. They are going to step up and try to knock him out of that. This is not out of some sort of selfish nature, but rather a form of professional rivalry. They might be friends, but they easily will take the opportunity to better themselves and take the spot of someone down.

That is something that we saw in the Attitude Era. Everyone wanted to be the best. Everyone wanted the World Title, but they also wanted the main event scene to be set on them at all times. That was missing from the last generation and thankfully we are seeing that same thing back in WWE now with the next crop of talent. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are stars and have already made it known that they are amazing workers. WWE has a bright future with both, but they both know they are the present as well. So don’t be surprised to see both men at the top of WWE for years to come. It seems like it is all but guaranteed.
