Mariah Carey managed to whip out her diva ways even during a huge moment in history, reports Page Six. Sources say that she was “furious” when she found out that she was not going to be seated with the Obama family during the inauguration (erm, duh?). Yes, a source claims that she just as delusional as most of us suspected:
“Mariah was in the VIP area, where every celebrity, like Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, was seated. But somehow she thought she’d be up with the Obama family. When she realized she wasn’t, she bailed.”
Supposedly Mariah wasn’t the only one who was pissed about placement. Sean Combs was also rumored to be irritated when he discovered that his presence wasn’t as big of a deal as Jay-Z’s, although his rep said that “It was one of the greatest moments of his life. Sean was invited to the inauguration and was seated third row, with Jay-Z, at the ceremony.”

One thing that I'd like to do is follow up with some of the people that were several MILES away from the event, but still felt like they were part of it.
Frankly, if I were going to choose one celebrity who, quote-unquote, deserved to be near Obama on the podium, the one that comes to mind is Oprah Winfrey. Her endorsement early in the primaries seemed more significant to me than anything Mariah Carey did during the campaign (if anything).
Of course, if Huckabee had won the election, Chuck Norris would have BEEN the podium.

Anyone who saw the interviews and backstage footage on youtube, would know what Mariah was EXTREMELY happy to be at the inauguration and was so honoured to be there!
It's funny how stupid these “sources” really are! Stop making up crap and get over YOURSELVES!
