Selena Gomez Shares Sia Snap Amid Writing News On Interscope Album

Selena Gomez and Sia Furler is a musical pairing that makes sense on every level.

So, you can imagine the excitement when the former Disney star posted an Instagram pic of the two looking like they were having the time of their lives on a private jet, destination unknown.

“Sia bia #2015,” Selena wrote alongside the black and white snap of the two songstresses embracing, with an added smiley icon.

According to the Urban Dictionary,”bia” means something it’s highly unlikely Selena would post. As for the 2015 reference, there’s a lot more to say when it comes to the Australian-born Sia and the 22-year-old pop princess.

Speaking to French radio station NRJ earlier this month, Sia — solo artist, former Zero 7 frontwoman and multiple hit songwriter — confirmed she has written songs for Selena.

Since the track list of the Latina’s upcoming greatest hits album, For You, doesn’t contain a single Sia-penned track and drops November 24 this year, this means the “Chandelier” co-writer/singer has contributed to Selena’s +1 album which will come out on Interscope.

For You serves as Selena’s last album for Disney’s Hollywood Records, after signing to Interscope in September.

Back in April, Sia and Selena were spotted out with others at Chelsea Handler’s show in Los Angeles and a Britney Spears concert — among other sightings — and it’s clear the two are firm pals. All of which is hugely promising for their collaboration.

Selena also popped up in the Kickstarter promo for Sia’s husband, filmmaker Erik Anders Lang’s, golf-meets-philosophy movie Be The Ball. The Idolator notes the project “traces the origins of golf while also exploring the various mental techniques” people can used to “enhance their game.”

While SelGo’s fantastic pop history with Selena & The Scene will get a revisit on For You, her comeback single — the Justin Bieber-inspired epic “The Heart Wants What It Wants” — debuted at No. 25 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart after racking up 106,000 downloads and reaching No.6 on their Digital Songs chart.

The stylish, gut-wrenching Dawn Shadforth-directed music video has now reached over 30 millions views (and counting).

Enough good things cannot be said about “Heart.” In a word, the Rock Mafia written and produced track is immense and the Inquisitr previously broke its anatomy down here and here.

Meanwhile, Sia — who is notorious for performing with either her back to an audience or a bag over her head — is more in demand than ever after consistent hits for herself and big name artists, deejays and producers.

These include: Rihanna epic “Diamonds,” Beyoncé’s “Pretty Hurts,” My Love” on the third installment of The Twilight Saga movies, “Titanium” with DJ David Guetta, Flo Rida’s “Wild Ones,” a co-write on Ne-Yo’s “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself),” Rita Ora’s “Radioactive” and “Chandelier” for Sia’s sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear — which was released in July this year.

Furler has also written for Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Ke$ha and tons more. She also co-wrote and performed “Kill and Run” for the soundtrack of the Baz Luhrmann-directed The Great Gatsby film, co-wrote and sang “Elastic Heart” on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack and has featured on TV show scores and ads.

Now, there’s Selena and Sia to look forward to. To hold you over until then (and Gomez’s first live performance of “The Heart Wants What It Wants” at the AMA’s on November 23), her track “Do It” has leaked. It’s fun, sexy and great.

Take a listen.
