‘RHOA’ Star Phaedra Parks Wants To Give Sons Positive Male Role Models

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks made a conscious decision to remove her two sons, Ayden and Dylan, from her home the day her husband was to be sentenced. Parks didn’t want her children to be exposed to his legal troubles and she wanted to avoid the paparazzi, who was rumored to be parked outside of her home. When Phaedra returned home after learning that Apollo Nida had been handed an eight-year sentence, Parks was told he wanted out of the marriage.

Parks is all about protecting her sons and she has revealed that she has no plans of bringing her kids to the jail, where Apollo is currently staying. In other words, he may not get to see his kids before he is released. Phaedra believes that his actions were selfish and that he should pay for his crimes. As Phaedra Parks revealed on the show, he wasn’t thinking about his sons when he was committing fraud.

According to a new Bravo report, Parks is now joining forces with an event called “Save Our Sons” that is designed to empower young men in the community who may not have had strong male role models. Perhaps this event is a way to make a dig at Apollo Nida, as he hasn’t been a positive role model to his children by committing crimes and being locked up once again.

The event is meant to “highlight the importance of supporting and encouraging African-American boys and men, offer resources to African-American males, celebrate the work of organizations engaged in programs that support the cause and inspire and motivate members of the community,” reads the statement from the event Phaedra will be at.

Phaedra Parks won’t be the only well-known face at the event. Fellow TV personality Judge Mathis will also be present. The event will include a panel for discussions, performances and even a resource fair.

“African-American boys and men, particularly ones who have grown up fatherless and without positive male role models, are often in need of guidance, information and resources to be successful in life,” the mission statement for the event reads, adding, “It is important for individuals, businesses and local organizations to support the needs of African-American males who want to better their lives and become productive and positive members of their communities.”

Phaedra Parks wants her sons to have strong and positive role models. She is currently taking care of them by herself, as Apollo has turned himself in. According to the Inquisitr, Nida felt betrayed by Parks because she removed their sons from their home as he was sentenced.
