Jose Canseco Says He Will Sell His Middle Finger On eBay

Jose Canseco, in a really bizarre way, is trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Canseco accidently shot off his middle finger while he was cleaning his gun. Through Twitter, he has laid out his strange plan to auction his finger off on eBay, reports CBS Sports.

While Canseco was playing in a poker tournament last week, his finger literally fell off. Canseco accidently shot himself a few weeks back, and his finger was able to be reattached by a doctor.

According to CBS, the disgraced All Star has decided to make a profit off of his misfortune. On Twitter, Canseco posted a photo of the gun he accidently shot himself with and captioned it thus: “This is the 45 caliber Remington that shot my finger off. It is for sale if anyone wants to buy it.”

“The 45 caliber Remington has a chrome mirror finish with custom grips with crystals and gold plating in the grips,” he tweeted a little while later.

In a bizarre move, Canseco then added these thoughts.

“Maybe I will make it a package the chrome 45 caliber Remington with the finger both for sale a package deal. [sic]”

Canseco accidently shot off his middle finger from his left hand back on October 28.

“I knew something crazy was going to happen with this dam [sic] finger cause it felt like it was falling off,” Canseco tweeted after the finger fell off at the poker game in Las Vegas less than two weeks ago.

“My finger should have been amputated from the beginning. It was very loose with no bone to connect it. It was also smelling really bad,” Canseco added.

Canseco, who is infamous for knocking out a Philadelphia sportscaster, made jokes about the finger falling off.

“I put my finger in the freezer anyone want finger appetizers. Or is it finger snacks.”

Canseco played for 17 years in the MLB. He had 462 home runs but in the end his career was tainted when he confessed to using steroids. After he retired in shame, he wrote a book where he stated that 85% of players in the MLB used steroids. He even named several of them.

Controversy should be Canseco’s middle name. As far as auctioning off his middle finger on eBay goes, Canseco won’t actually get the opportunity to do that. eBay has a strict no-body-parts policy.

It will be interesting to see how Canseco profits from his digit.
