Alabama Man Paying Price For Anti-Veteran Rant On Facebook During Veterans Day

Last week, The Inquisitr reported on the annual homage to all who served or are currently serving in the United States military. Veterans Day is a day to appreciate the men and women who fought for our freedoms, especially those who passed on. True, most of us celebrate by taking advantage of retail and restaurant deals, but nevertheless, it is a day still set aside to show respect.

However, there is one man who wrote a Veteran’s Day speech that got him in a lot of trouble stating none of the veterans fought for any of his freedoms. Of course he was met with hostility. Now there are reports that he is receiving death threats.

According to an article by Yellow Hammer News, Michael Schuette of Anniston, Alabama took to Facebook to explain that military veterans are not American heroes. As a matter of fact, Michael went as far saying that veterans kill for profit, terrorize other countries, never sacrificed for the country, and do nothing for the American citizens whatsoever. A screenshot of his rant is attached below so you may read Michael’s rant in its entirety.

Michael Shuette has received death threats for his anti-veteran rant on Facebook.

Also, there is a bizarre irony that comes with this rant. Michael Schuette is the co-owner of Outlaw Gun Repair and Hydrographing. For most people, someone who supports the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms is not the type of person they’d expect to be an anti-veteran activist. Also, Michael and his wife are administrators of Outlaw Guns, a 5,000-member Facebook group dedicated to the buying, selling, and trading of firearms in Calhoun County, Alabama. Like we stated earlier, not the type of person people would expect to be anti-veteran.

Nevertheless, Michael Schuette’s anti-veteran rant has caused a lot of turmoil for the Outlaw Gun Repair and Hydrographing as well as their livelihood. Many people – veterans and non-veterans alike – have taken to the comment section of the Schuette’s business to express their outrage and threaten boycotting. As a result, Michael took to Facebook yet again to let everyone know that his words have caused him to leave the business, making his wife the sole business owner of Outlaw Gun.

Because of the backlash of his anti-veteran rant, Michael Schuette was forced to leave his business.

However, Michael Schuette’s attempts for reparations may not be enough as AL reports that he and his family have now received as many as twenty death threats. Because of the attack on his and his family’s well-being, Michael has been up entire nights answering calls from veterans around the country in trying to explain his rant.

“I do understand my comment was very harsh. I sometimes say controversial things but I’ve never had anything like this. I took my anger out on the victims of the whole thing. I’m mad at the system that puts our kids out there to die.”

Maybe Michael Schuette’s ill-written words stem from the fact that he did not serve in the United States military. Michael has gone on the record to say that he is not a “hateful person” and was simply saying he was tired of the government sending young people off to war.

“I really do care about people and the last 10 – 12 hours have been very humbling. All I can do is take responsibility for what I said.”

Now that you’ve read the news on Michael Schuette’s anti-veteran words and how it put him and his family in jeopardy, what are your views? Was he truly expressing his disdain for the government?
