Tracy Morgan Facing A ‘Severe Brain Injury’ From Traumatic Car Accident As Case Pends

Tracy Morgan may never truly recover from his injuries that he sustained in a traumatic car accident with a Wal-Mart truck back in June. In addition to his injuries, the accident, which took place on the New Jersey Turnpike, took the life of his friend and fellow comedian James McNair.

Now that Morgan is trying to gear up for his trial with Wal-Mart, the details of his injuries are coming to the surface. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Morgan’s attorney gave a statement about his condition and admitted that the 30 Rock star may never truly recover or be “the Tracy Morgan he once was.”

Following the accident on June 7, Morgan went through several weeks of therapy in hopes to make a speedy recovery from the injuries. Tracy suffered a broken nose, ribs, and leg in addition to a severe brain injury. The last injury is the most recent news that has been released, as it took several weeks for Morgan to be properly evaluated.

His attorney mentioned that “he’s fighting to get better, and if there’s a chance for him to be back to the Tracy Morgan he once was, he’s going to try to do that, but we just don’t know because of the severity of the injuries that he sustained and the fact that he had such a severe brain injury.”

So far the Wal-Mart truck driver, Kevin Roper, has been charged with death by auto assault but Wal-Mart isn’t taking any responsibility. Back in September, Wal-Mart said that those who were involved in the car accident should have buckled up for a safer trip.

This was a radical change from the initial statement Wal-Mart gave. “This is a tragedy and we are profoundly sorry that one of our trucks was involved… The facts are continuing to unfold. If it’s determined that our truck caused the accident, Walmart will take full responsibility.”

As the Inquisitr reported, Tracy Morgan is suing Wal-Mart for negligence as they allowed Roper to operate a vehicle without proper rest. Roper is trying to hold up the case as criminal proceedings are still going on.

Morgan’s friend and co-star Chris Rock visited the comedian at home to show him a cut of their new film Top Five, and gave an update of his condition.

“He’s got physical therapists. There’s a lot of rehab going on. He’s traumatized — his friend died. It’s Tracy — not the most stable guy in the world to begin with.”
