‘Far Cry 4,’ Other Ubisoft Games Having Connectivity Issues

Far Cry 4 and other Ubisoft games are having some rather striking connectivity issues on Far Cry 4‘s launch day. While this was supposed to be a big day for Ubisoft, it is turning out to be a bit of a nightmare as it appears the company’s servers cannot handle the load. It’s possible the problem has been exacerbated by last week’s last of Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, as well as the long awaited release of Watch Dogs on the Wii U.

What does this mean for Far Cry 4 players who were hoping they would be able to get the full game experience on the first day it was out? It appears they are going to have to be a bit patient and hope that the company is able to fix the issues at some point today. The problem is, patience could be at an all-time low towards Ubisoft, considering the launch day issues that surrounded Unity. The graphical downgrading of that game alone has quite a few gamers feeling as though they might have been scammed a little bit.

Graphics qualities not living up to the expectations of the public isn’t any more a scam than Ubisoft having problems with its servers, but the company can hardly stand to endure much more negative press. IGN reports that getting online to play in the PvP modes and then getting booted off is one thing. Some Far Cry 4 users on the PS3 are claiming they can’t play the game at all. Ubisoft has said it believes this issue has something to do with a game save in Far Cry 3 but doesn’t yet know how to fix it. Take heart if you are one of those gamers, though, because the publisher has put up a thread on its forums asking for help.

The news isn’t all bad when talking about Far Cry 4. While Assassin’s Creed: Unity has also taken a lot of flack for its look and performance on the PC, reviewers of the game are quick to point out it isn’t broken like Unity is and it looks quite gorgeous. PC Magazine does point out the title was clearly built for the console, but you are going to get your money’s worth if you go the PC route. As long as you’re able to get past the connectivity issues in the game, it appears you’re in for quite the story line. Last month, Far Cry 4‘s creative director let people know he expects the story to take about 35 hours to complete.
