‘Halo: Master Chief Collection’ Matchmaking Fix Delayed As Player’s Patience Wears Thin
Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been a disappointment since it released to the Xbox One last week as matchmaking and other multiplayer issues have dragged the game down. More disappointment arrived Tuesday as 343 Industries revealed the patch to fix the matchmaking and other issues with the game has been delayed.
343 Industries provided an update on its forums revealing the delay of the patch. It’s not clear if the first console-side patch to Halo: The Master Chief Collection failed certification or not, but the developer has some additional work to do before it is ready for the masses.

This week’s content update, which was originally scheduled for release this Wednesday, 11/19, will now be releasing later this week to allow for additional fixes, as well as the completion of the testing and certification process.
This content update includes a variety of fixes across the title, including Matchmaking performance issues, general UI and game stability improvements, as well as fixes for game-game specific issues in Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 2: Anniversary, and more. The full patch notes will be posted later this week, in advance of the content update release.

The timing could not be worse for Halo: The Master Chief Collection as multiple big hit games like Grand Theft Auto V, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Far Cry 4 all released this week. Some members of the Halosub-Reddit have discussed talked of trading the game in for others while the reaction on Twitter and elsewhere has also been less than charitable.

The issues with Halo: MCC have already forced 343 Industries to delay the start of the Halo Championship Series by a week while the Grifball league has dropped the game altogether for now. 343 Industries appears to be betting that this patch will provide the quick matchmaking and stability the game needs so everything else can move forward.
