Bill Cosby Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman In The 1970’s

Joan Tarshis, a journalist and publicist, has come forward and told CNN that Bill Cosby raped her 45 years ago. At the time she was just a teenager.

Tarshis says, that, she met the actor/comedian back in 1969 in Los Angeles. At the time she was invited out to lunch by a group of Cosby’s friends. After meeting Cosby at the lunch, she stated that they saw each other again and that she even visited him on the set of The Bill Cosby Show.

According to Tarshis, Cosby invited her to his place to work on some comedy routines.

“I thought, ‘That’s cool, getting to work with Bill Cosby on jokes,‘” Tarshis told CNN.

At the time Tarshis was 19. She says that Cosby made her an alcoholic drink known as a Red Eye. Tarshis says after drinking it she passed out.

“I woke up or came to very groggily with him removing my underwear,” Tarshis said.

Tarshis says that she tried to stop the situation by telling Cosby that she had an infection that his wife could catch, but that only led to him making her have oral sex with him.

After leaving, she says, that she vowed that she would never see him again.

However, Cosby called her and invited her to watch him perform at a theater, not far from her home. Tarshis says she did not decline because she had not told her mother, who was a huge Cosby fan, about what had taken place between them.

On the way, to the show, Tarshis says that she accepted drinks from Cosby in his limo and hotel room. Tarshis said that after consuming the drinks that she felt ‘very, very very drugged.’ At the theater Tarshis asked the chauffer to take her back to the car where she eventually passed out. She says when she woke up it was the next morning and that she was naked in bed with Cosby.

“I didn’t say what I wanted to say to Cosby at the time, what I said to myself was, you old expletive, you finally got me. You’ll never get me again,” Tarshis told CNN..

“But during those years as I grew into adulthood, I watched Cosby be praised by everyone from Presidents to Oprah to the Jell-O Corporation. It all made me ill, knowing first-hand there was something unbalanced about him. I had heard and/or strongly suspected I was not the only white girl he had drugged and raped but I never had any proof. No one began talking until 2004. And though I knew I should say something, I still felt ashamed. Ashamed that I didn’t earlier say earlier. In any event now, as more and more of his rape victims have come forward, all telling similar stories, the time is right to join them,” Tarshis said according to the Washington Times.

Tarshis, is just one of a group of women, that have come forward to accuse Cosby of rape. Cosby, 77, denies all allegations.

Cosby has always stated that all of the allegations are untrue. He has never been prosecuted, but did settle a case back in 2006.

Back in 2006 he settled a case brought by Andrea Constand, a staffer on Temple University’s women’s basketball team. She accused Cosby of drugging her and molesting her in her home.

Constand’s attorney claimed that there were 13 other women with similar stories, but no witnesses were ever interviewed. The terms of the settlement have never been released.
