Sylvester Stallone Developing ‘Rocky: The Musical’

Rocky Balboa may soon be returning for another fight but this time it won’t be on the big screen but rather in a musical that will take place in Germany.

Sylvester Stallone has reportedly teamed up with boxers Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko to create the German stage show which they hope will open to sold out audiences as early as November 2012.

Speaking about the stage show Stallone recently revealed:

“I always had the idea of Rocky as a musical.”

Stallone goes on to tell the Telegraph:

“At the end of the day, Rocky is a love story and he could never have reached the final bell without Adrian.”

If everything goes as planned fans of the movies will be able to hear a stage rendition of “Eye of the Tiger” along with other classic songs from the various Rocky movies.

Speaking for himself and his Rocky persona Stallone reveals:

“To see this story coming to life on a musical stage makes me proud … And it would make Rocky proud.”

I think perhaps Sylvester Stallone has taken one too many shots to the head while filming the Rocky movies. The last thing I want to see a boxer do after pummeling another guy to the ground is break out into song and perhaps a dance.

Would you be willing to pay for the chance to see a musical based on Rocky Balboa?
