‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ Spinoff In the Works? Anna Cardwell Wants To Return To TV
Is TLC planning to start filming a spinoff of the recently-cancelled reality show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo? According to Radar Online Mama June’s daughter, Anna Marie “Chickadee” Cardwell, came up with the bright idea to create a new series to replace the one that was cancelled due to a disturbing family sexual abuse scandal.
On Sunday, just weeks after TLC cancelled the reality show, Cardwell asked her 5,000-ish followers on Facebook if they thought a spinoff would be a good idea. Before she even got a response, she quickly answered her own question.
“What do y’all think about a spin off show but I don’t think it will work though.”
Although Cardwell, 20, stated that she didn’t think a spinoff would work, some of her followers actually liked the idea. Her supporters were plentiful — almost 1,000 people clicked the “like” button and more than 150 followers left a comment.
“I want this to happen ASAP!!! I miss Honey Boo Boo so bad right now!!!”
“Love the idea! Would def watch. Y’all are my favorite on the show anyway!”
“Yes… I think this can be a healing process for you as well as a teaching process for those who have been sexually molested. You can show them that you can go on and have beautiful family from something so horrible.”
Of course, there were some who thought it wasn’t quite time for a Here Comes Honey Boo Boo spinoff, and others weren’t keen on the idea at all.
“I think that it would be great Anna but just not right now, step out of the lime light for awhile focus on you & your family.”
“I’m sorry, but without the rest of your crazy family and their drama, the show wouldn’t be very interesting. They don’t give normal families reality shows because they won’t have ratings without drama.”
On October 24, TLC pulled the show off the air for good after June Shannon, known to fans as “Mama June,” began dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel.
Radar Online reports that June’s 20-year-old daughter, Anna recently confirmed that she was the victim of sexual abuse when she was eight years old — reportedly by the same man that her mother was dating.
Just days after the show was cancelled, Anna Marie Cardwell talked to Entertainment Tonight about her claims that she was molested by Mark McDaniel. She was in tears when she said to her mother, “He’s a child molester, Mama. He did this to me.”
