Baby’s Head, Body Parts Found In Package Headed To Las Vegas
A baby’s head and body parts were discovered inside a package headed from Thailand to Las Vegas. In what sounds like a scene straight from a horror movie, the Daily Mail states that Thai police found not only the head of an infant and several feet, there were also “sheets of skin” inside the package that was scanned in at a DHL shipping center in Bankok on Sunday.
Even more gruesome? The skin and body parts were not from one body — they were reportedly from multiple infants and were found in small pieces in containers filled with formaldehyde. Some of the skin belonged to an adult, with the Daily Mail reporting that one large sheet of skin had a large tattoo of a tiger on it.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that a label on the package bound for the U.S. stated that toys were inside, but sorters found something completely different when they ran a routine X-ray scan.
“DHL package sorters in Bangkok were stunned when a routine X-ray scan revealed they contained parts of a baby’s head, a baby’s foot and heart.”
Police Major General Chawalit Prasopsin told AFP Thailand that the package full of body parts headed to Nevada could be for someone’s “collection or for educational purposes.” Police did not provide any information about the person or company that the package was intended for.
The baby’s head, body parts, and skin have all been sent out for forensic examination in an effort to determine if the babies died post delivery or while in the womb, and to determine who the adult skin belonged to.
This isn’t the first time the Thai police made a horrific discovery like this. Aljazeera reports that back in 2012, police in Thailand discovered six human fetuses in the luggage of a British citizen.
The fetuses had been “roasted and covered in gold leaf as part of an apparent black magic ritual.” Apparently the ritual was believed to bring good luck to the owner of the preserved fetuses and are kept within their homes or at their business.
