Jim Bob, Michelle Duggar Respond To Same-Sex Couple Kissing Controversy With Familiar Words

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar love kissing, but all lips aren’t created equal in the eyes of the 19 Kids and Counting stars.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have been on a kissing rampage lately. The couple recently made headlines for kissing at Jessa Duggar’s wedding, after she and husband Ben Seewald chose to share their first smooch in private. The newlyweds later shared a viral Instagram photo of themselves locking lips, and it was likely meant to be their way of making up for not kissing at their wedding. However, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar couldn’t resist trying to steal the spotlight from Jessa and Ben by copying the young couple’s smooch and sharing a photo of their lip lock on the Duggar family Facebook page.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar claimed that they shared the kissing photo to counter the criticism received by Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald’s steamy snapshot. To really stick it to the haters, the Duggars encouraged other happy married couples to share their own photos below the Facebook post. However, instead of proving to their critics that they’re just a loving family, they received more criticism when they started deleting photos of same-sex couples kissing.

According to People, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar recently responded to their latest controversy on the Duggar family Facebook page. The 19 Kids and Counting stars chose to use a quote that’s rather popular in their family.

“We love these wise words from Rick Warren: ‘Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. Second is that to love someone means that you must agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.'”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jessa Duggar used the same words to express her feelings about homosexuality last month. However, she mistakenly attributed the quote to Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar obviously try hard not to come off as being hateful when it comes to their anti-gay marriage stance, but sometimes actions speak louder than words. Queerty points out that photos of gay couples continue to be deleted from the Duggar family Facebook page, but Jim Bob and Michelle aren’t removing pictures of people kissing Diet Coke cans, Godzilla figurines, Tide Pods, and their pets.

Duggar Kiss Challenge

The Facebook page “Duggars Family Official Blocked GLBT Wedding Photos” page was created for same-sex couples to share their pictures that were deleted from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s Facebook post. Many photos are accompanied by the hashtag #DuggarsCantDeleteLove.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar don’t talk about their anti-gay marriage stance often, but this isn’t the first time one of the 19 Kids and Counting stars has done something to show they don’t support the LGBQT community. According to Advocate, Michelle Duggar recorded a robocall in opposition to a Fayetteville, Arkansas, ordinance that would protect LGBQT citizens from being discriminated against in employment, housing, and public accommodations. She reportedly equated transgender people to “sex offenders and pedophiles.” However, her efforts failed — the ordinance passed in August of this year.

What do you think of how Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar treat the LGBQT community? Do they come off as being as compassionate as they claim to be?
