‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin Praises Donald Trump

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin, the former WWE Superstar, has one of the most successful podcasts in the world in both his family-friendly version and the Thursday “cluster muck.”

What makes the show so successful and such a joy to listen to is his willingness to engage fans and speak to them like they’re long-time buddies.

He’s gracious with his time and no subject is off-limits.

Earlier this week, he fielded a question about his memorable guest referee appearance at WrestleMania 23 in which he officiated a contest between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump.

The loser got his head shaved. (Sorry, Mr. McMahon.) The winner got to do the shaving.

While McMahon and Trump didn’t do the wrestling themselves, they did pick wrestlers to represent them. When Mr. McMahon found himself on the losing end, “the Donald” got to hold on to his famous locks. But Trump didn’t get out of the event unscathed.

A fan asked “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to relive the experience of giving Trump a Stone Cold Stunner and Austin had this to say.

“As far as Donald Trump goes, here’s a guy who’s a billionaire and at the very last minute, Vince says to Donald, ‘Hey Donald, what about taking a Stone Cold Stunner?’ And there was Donald’s right-hand guy telling him every reason under the sun why not to take the Stone Cold Stunner. But Donald Trump was such a cool guy — now he botched it, it was one of the worst Stunners I’ve ever given in my life — but the fact that he was such a high character, high-class guy, and didn’t have to do it, the fact that he did do it, spoke volumes to me about who Donald Trump is. I don’t know anything about his personal life but in regards to how he treated me and what he was able to put on the line at WrestleMania 23, gave me a lot of respect for him and I appreciate that.”

With Donald Trump criticized for his abrasive attitude often displayed on Twitter towards the current Presidential administration as well as some of his other controversial views, it’s rare you hear someone say something nice about him, so Austin’s salute is a welcome bit of news for the Donald.

It’s uncertain whether Trump will actually care, but having the No. 1 wrestler of all time put you over can’t be bad for the image.

Do you think “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is right in calling Trump a “high character, high-class guy”?
