Mama June Confession: ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Star Shares Truth About Pumpkin’s Dad

Mama June made a shocking confession when she decided to sit down with Entertainment Tonight Online. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star has been at the center of the scandal surrounding her family in recent weeks, but she had not spoken publicly about the scandal over her relationship with Mark McDaniel until she sat down with ET. McDaniel is a convicted child molester, who was released from prison recently after spending 10 years behind bars.

Recent reports had Mama June dating McDaniel since his release from prison. The reports caused TLC to cancel Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and there has been drama ever since. However, Mama June decided to set the record straight. In her interview with Entertainment Tonight, she denied the claims that she and McDaniel rekindled their romance following his release from prison.

She also took the time to clear up another recent report about McDaniel and her family. Anna spoke out recently, and she claimed that McDaniel is Pumpkin’s father. Mama June revealed that Anna is not correct about that. However, the Honey Boo Boo star did speak openly about the report.

“Since two months to almost six years, she knew nobody but him. She was starting to resent Anna and she was starting to ask me questions. I can’t answer those questions for Pumpkin. I was sitting right there with twelve other people. It was a conversation that she wanted her answers: what happened, why did he leave, you know, if he was her real father. He admitted to her, no. I had already told her that but, you know, she wanted to hear from both sides of the story.”

Who is Pumpkin’s father? Mama June revealed that Pumpkin has the same father as her 18-year-old daughter Jessica. That man is Michael Anthony Ford, and he is a convicted sex offender. To Catch a Predator featured him back in 2005. June admitted to lying to her family about McDaniel being Pumpkin’s father, but she revealed that she only did it to protect her family.

What is next for Mama June? The Inquisitr reported that the reality star would next appear on Dr. Phil’s series. Her episode will air on Monday, November 17. A preview for the episode shows Dr. Phil asking June Shannon some tough questions about the recent reports. He also asked her about TLC’s cancellation of her reality series, according to Us Magazine. She spoke openly about her feelings on that issue.

“I have nothing bad to say about TLC. They have been good to me. They still are very good to me. You know the rumor is that I was not going get paid with the show, but I did get paid through whatever was owed to me through the show. My kids got paid in their trust funds. Sugar Bear got paid. Everybody got paid that was owed from the show. They’re still taking care of the girls today with tutoring. Which I’m very, very grateful for. They’re taking care of some other things for the girls, I’m very, very grateful for. And I’m grateful for the experience.”
