Ray Rice’s Wife Janay Will Be Seen In ‘TODAY’ Interview With Matt Lauer

Ray Rice’s wife, Janay Palmer, will soon be seen in an interview for the TODAY show. This week Janay welcomed a camera crew into her Maryland home, where she reportedly sat down with host Matt Lauer.

Before the shoot Janay met with beauty specialists who got her camera-ready.

“With cameras setup in her Maryland home, Janay Palmer — the woman Ray KO’d in the elevator back in February — invited over a local company that specializes in photo shoots to gussy her up,” TMZ reported on November 13. “The company is called Franchon Parlour — and it does everything from wardrobe selection to hair extensions.”

According to TMZ, the newlywed couple were hoping the interview would be all about Janay, but NBC sources told the site, “[Ray Rice] is the main reason they want this interview,” and that he “will be participating in some way even though his people say he is not yet committed.”

In a second TMZ report, also from November 13, a video was shown of Lauer in New York City. However, when photographers prodded him about his interview with Janay, all he would say was, “It was great, it was fantastic.”

“Matt was heading over to 30 Rock in NYC this morning when he acknowledged the interview was in the can, but watch the deflection technique… Matt knows the golden rule when it comes to promoting a big interview — no one’s gonna buy the cow if he gives away the milk for free,” TMZ explained.

Following the release of a second video, showing Ray Rice hitting his wife in an elevator, as the Inquisitr reported, Janay took to Instagram, where she shared her thoughts on the scandal.

“I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend,” she wrote, according to an USA Today Sports report. “But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that hte media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his a** of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific.”

“This is our life! What don’t you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!”

Ray Rice was suspended indefinitely from the NFL after the release of the second video. As per the Inquisitr, he is currently fighting to be reinstated.
