‘Honey Boo Boo’ Star Mama June Shannon Heads To ‘Dr. Phil’: Will She Be Truthful?
Mama June Shannon of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is ready to tell her side of the story apparently, or so she claims. After a whirlwind of allegations that she’s romancing her daughter Anna Cardwell’s molester, Mama June is ready to sit down and talk about the events that have led to the cancellation of her family’s show on TLC. First it was a brief interview with Entertainment Tonight, and now news is out that she is doing Dr. Phil.
TV by the Numbers reveals that Mama June Shannon is doing an interview with Dr. Phil that will air on Monday, November 17. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star has said bits and pieces since the allegations emerged that she had rekindled the flame with Mark McDaniel, the convicted child molester who Shannon’s daughter Anna says molested her. The latest buzz was that McDaniel may even be Anna’s sister Lauryn’s biological father, which June denies.
Now Shannon says, “I owe it to the fans to say my side of the story. I’m not a perfect parent, I made a mistake. It’s time to move on.”
It seems that Shannon will tackle a range of topics, though it seems she still denies being romantically involved with McDaniel. TMZ originally broke the story and posted multiple photos showing Mama June and McDaniel together, with Lauren and “Honey Boo Boo” Alana along at various times. Despite that, Shannon maintains that at least one of the photos was doctored.
Dr. Phil will also ask Mama June about the child services investigation and the TLC cancellation of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. It seems that June will also maintain that Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson cheated on her, hurting her a lot, despite some allegations that things played out differently in the timeline of their split.
Later in the show, Sugar Bear and Lauryn, nicknamed “Pumpkin,” will join the interview as well. It seems that at one point Shannon will say that she would “never take my child around someone like that,” meaning having Lauryn near McDaniel, despite the fact that TMZ published pictures showing Mama June, Pumpkin, and McDaniel together.
In her new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shannon claimed she had nothing to hide. She says that the first time she ran into Mark after he got out of prison earlier this year was a coincidence. She says she believes that “something” happened between Anna and Mark, but she’s never read the court documents. She says she told Anna not to bring up the past, and interviewer Brooke Anderson asked some very tough questions. More from that interview will air on an upcoming episode of ET.
How hard will Dr. Phil go after Mama June Shannon in her interview? Will people believe what she has to share, and will she accept any responsibility for this mess?
