Antisemitism In Paris: Jewish Teen Mobbed Twelve Hours After Kosher Eatery Was Attacked With Firebomb

Antisemitism in the world has always been a problem for the Jewish people but over the course of the last decade or so, it seems it has become more prominent. The Inquisitr reported on the latest pertaining to hate crimes targeting Jews in which two happened back in August. A Pro-Israel U.S. Marine was assaulted at a protest and two schoolgirls were threatened to have their throats slit for Palestine.

Now there are reports of two antisemitic crimes happening back-to-back in Paris, France. A Jewish boy was assaulted by a mob twelve hours after a kosher eatery was firebombed. Both crimes also happened very close in proximity to each other.

According to an article by the National Bureau for Vigilance Against Antisemitism (BNVCA) translated through Times of Israel, it reports that a Jewish boy was assaulted on Thursday in the 3rd arrondissement right in front of the private high school known as Progress. The victim, who was wearing a kipah, hung out with friends in front of Progress, which is known for their high number of Jewish students. Fifteen youths, of African descent and aged sixteen to nineteen, then appeared and assaulted him.

The assailants beat the Jewish boy (who has not been named) with their fists and elbows before fleeing the scene. As of now, the boy has been given medical attention along with two days of sick leave to recover from the assault.

However, it should be noted that just twelve hours earlier, another antisemitic crime happened to a kosher eatery just four miles west of Progress. Zekai, a kosher sushi restaurant located in the 17th arrondissement, was attacked by assailants. The assault happened at night when vandals hurled stones at the restaurant’s armored glass door but failed to punch a hole through it. They also tried to set off a firebomb in an arson attempt before fleeing the scene.

Zekai, a sushi and bagel restaurant in Paris, was attacked by assailants. It is believed the crime has to do with antisemitism because the restaurant displays a kosher certification.

The reason why Zekai didn’t suffer is because it was enforced to take on such an attack. The upscale eatery situated in a chic neighborhood near the Arc de Triomphe has been targeted by antisemitic vandals in the past because they display a kosher certificate on the front door.

Both incidents have been reported to the police and it is believed they are unrelated. Nevertheless, what are your opinions on these crimes which seem to be antisemitic in nature? Do you think that antisemitism is increasing in our world?
