Chelsea Clinton Post-Baby Appearance: New Mom Stuns On Red Carpet At ‘Glamour’ Event
Chelsea Clinton’s post-baby look on the red carpet of the Glamour 2014 Women of The Year Awards was definitely a hit. The New York City event was the first for Chelsea since having baby Charlotte with husband Marc Mezvinsky in September. Clinton was honored for her work with the Clinton Foundation.
E! Online shares the scoop on Chelsea Clinton’s post-baby appearance. She wore a black form-fitting sleeveless printed dress along with metallic pumps. The dress featured floral embroidery and she wore minimal makeup with her hair down and loose.
Clinton’s husband Marc was at the event with her, Us Weekly shares. The two married four years ago and welcomed baby Charlotte on September 26. During Chelsea’s WOTY Award acceptance speech, Clinton shared that this was her first night out since Charlotte’s arrival. She joked that she had started to wonder if she’d ever have adult conversation or wear high heels and a nice dress again.
Despite the jokes, Chelsea says that she has spent most of Charlotte’s life so far “at peace with the present and [with] anxiety about the future.” She added that she wants her daughter to “grow up to be whatever she dreams to be and do whatever she chooses, and that’s not the world we live in today.”
In addition to settling into life as a first-time mom, Clinton shared that she is hoping to utilize her efforts with the Clinton Foundation to concentrate on women’s rights so that every girl can be whatever she hopes and dreams to be. Others honored at the WOTY Awards included Robin Roberts of Good Morning America, Lupita Nyong’o from 12 Years A Slave, Mindy Kaling of The Mindy Project and Laverne Cox of Orange Is the New Black.
Many fans were in awe of Chelsea Clinton’s post-baby figure shown off in a Oscar de la Renta dress. She posed for photos on the red carpet not only with husband Marc, but with fellow honoree Nyong’o. Other than attending de la Renta’s funeral recently, Chelsea has been staying low-profile at her New York apartment, shares the Daily Mail.
Chelsea’s mom Hillary Clinton was also at the event and both the new mom and new grandmother looked happy and content. Actress Keri Russel of The Americans and Ivanka Trump of The Celebrity Apprentice also joined Clinton on the red carpet.
Now that Chelsea Clinton’s post-baby debut is out of the way, many wonder if she will soon be more visible as her mom begins a presidential campaign. Though Hillary Clinton has yet to confirm she plans to run, many expect she will announce her candidacy shortly into the new year and, of course, most would expect both Bill Clinton and Chelsea to be right by her side if she does.
