Lil Kim: 40-Year-Old Rapper Said She Plans To Spoil New Daughter Royal Reign

Lil Kim may have waited until she was 40 to have her first child, but the rapper said she plans to make up for lost time by spoiling the heck out of the little one.

In June, Lil KIm gave birth to her first child; a daughter. In a recent interview Kim said she wants her baby to have “everything.”

“After I had my baby, I was like, ‘I have to get right to it…,” she told HipHollywood. “I have to make sure that that baby has everything and doesn’t want for nothing.”

Lil Kim even implied as much with her daughter’s name, Royal Reign.

Kim added that she found pregnancy beautiful, if a bit “expensive.”

“[Pregnancy] is the most expensive gift God has ever given me and the most beautiful gift God has ever given me,” she said.

But Lil Kim isn’t letting motherhood slow down her career. She is reuniting with fellow “Not Tonight” singers and friends Missy Elliot and Da Brat, with the group appearing on stage together for the first time in 16 years. The trio will perform at the Soul Train Awards.

“I’m just really excited to see my friends,” Lil Kim said. “Missy Elliot is my sister. She’s a longterm friend and just someone that I love dearly.”

Lil Kim has time for rap’s new school as well. She recently teamed up with Iggy Azalea to record a track, and Kim had nothing but praise for the Australian rapper.”Iggy is my girl,” Lil Kim said. “Her and I and T.I. are doing a track together. I don’t know if it’s gonna be for my album… We have other plans for it as well. I think we’re gonna do a double package type thing.”

Fans excited to see Lil Kim back on stage will have just a few more weeks to wait. She is set to perform with Da Brat and Missy Elliot at the Soul Train Awards on Nov. 30 in Las Vegas.
