WWE: Alberto Del Rio Says Vince McMahon And Triple H Took The Fun Out Of Wrestling [Video]

Alberto del Rio has apparently made up with the WWE, but he still thinks Vince McMahon and Triple H took the fun out being a wrestler.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, allegations over racism in the WWE still linger, even after all these years. Earlier in the year, when the WWE dropped an all-black faction storyline, rumors of racism began running rampant. Alberto del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, claims that Triple H is racist towards Hispanics and del Rio himself says the same. Mexico’s greatest import has also been claiming the truth about racism in the WWE will become known although it could be said he’s been vindicated since the WWE employee that made the racist joke is no longer with the company.

Del Rio now wrestles as Roberto El Patron and in a recent interview he confirmed that he will debut on AAA’s new Lucha Underground in 2015.

In the video, Alberto also discusses how racism is not the only issue plaguing the WWE. There were alleged pay issues and one time he told officials in the WWE that he wasn’t a “kid from NXT” and demanded that he be paid fairly or he would quit. Del Rio said, “I was someone before you and I will be someone after you.”

Alberto del Rio is now focusing on the after part of his career, and apparently he feels the classy thing to do is compliment Vince McMahon.

“I have no problems or any bad comments about Vince McMahon,” Del Rio said. “He’s a gentleman, he always treated me well. Our relationship was always fantastic.”

Perhaps because of such statements, the WWE officially released a statement about del Rio leaving the company.

“Following his departure from WWE, former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rioand WWE have reached a mutual understanding with regard to his future booking opportunities. WWE wishes Alberto the best in his future endeavors.”

At the same time, Alberto Del Rio does have some criticisms for how Vince McMahon and Triple H have managed the WWE over the years.

“It’s all about politics. The fans complain about this and that but they don’t realize it’s not our choice. We’re just following orders, we don’t control our own destiny even though I spoke about destiny for years and years. They tell you what to to, what to say and how to wrestle, it wasn’t fun anymore.”

Of course, it’s apparently Triple H, not Vince, that del Rio was having issues with, so perhaps it’s not too surprising that he’d praise McMahon upon leaving. His complaints may also reflect the corporate nature of the WWE and not necessarily its leader, although some say Triple H is unofficially in charge nowadays.

What do you think about Alberto del Rio’s allegations about racism in the WWE?
