Phaedra Parks Dreading New Season of Real Housewives Of Atlanta

Phaedra Parks will be watching when the new season of Real Housewives of Atlanta debuts November 9, but she isn’t happy about it. That’s because this season chronicles the dramatic downfall of her marriage to convicted felon, Apollo Nida.

Parks will not let her sons with Nida, Dylan and Ayden, watch the show, but she will watch so she knows exactly how much of the disintegration of her marriage coupled with Apollo Nida’s legal troubles are included in the show. A source close to Parks told HollywoodLife.com that Phaedra will have trouble watching.

She’ll have to force herself, literally. She’s dreading it because it will reopen all the pain and suffering she’s recently gone through with Apollo and she doesn’t know what’s going to be aired and what’s not. She doesn’t know what to expect.”

It’s not immediately clear if season 7 of Real Housewives of Atlanta is still filming, but according to TMZ, the show was still in production as recently as September, and that gives Phaedra Parks plenty to worry about.

In September, Parks and her estranged husband allegedly had an altercation that ended with Nida and Parks having a shouting match outside of her home while Nida had been due to report for his eight year prison sentence for wire fraud and money laundering. Nida’s anger originated when Parks refused to put money on his prison books and refused to bring their sons to visit him in prison.

Nida’s tirade caused him to miss the deadline to report to his new home in a minimum security prison in Kentucky, but he reported as ordered the following day. Following Nida’s incarceration, a representative of Phaedra Parks spoke about her determination.

She is putting all of her energy into ensuring the well-being of her two children and making decisions that are in their best interests. This situation has put a tremendous strain on Phaedra and her family, and she is working hard to bring back a sense of normalcy to everyone’s lives.”

There’s also the deposition by attorneys for author Angela Stanton. Stanton is being sued by Phaedra Parks for defamation after Stanton released a book which alleged that Parks knew all about Apollo Nida’s illegal activities. Parks has denied knowing anything about Nida’s crimes until he informed her of his arrest.

What will absolutely be included in Real Housewives of Atlanta season 7, is Apollo Nida’s anger over Phaedra’s lack of support and his accusations of infidelity. In a preview clip, which is taken from the premiere episode, Phaedra discusses her reasons for not attending Nida’s sentencing hearing.

It’s the morning of Apollo’s sentencing, and I’ve decided not to be at our house because of the paparazzi and people trying to snap pictures of my children.”

Nida had a response of his own.

“My wife and children, they left,” he said. “And that woman that I thought was supposed to be there for me and cherish me, she’s nowhere to be found.”
