JCPenney Black Friday Ad Features $100 Freebie For Early Birds, But There’s A Catch

Heading out to do Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving? You may want to make JCPenney your first stop, considering they are giving away $100 coupons that can be used on a purchase of $100 or more. That means you could potentially get $100 in free merchandise just for showing up at the store at 5 p.m. on November 27.

The ad wasn’t “leaked” like many other Black Friday ads are. JCPenney posted their entire 72-page ad before it could be scooped by one of the many sites that leak out ads early for retailers like Walmart, KMart, and Target.

Over the past few years, JCPenney has been known for giving away limited edition Disney snow globes to the first customers who come through the door, but this year it’s money-saving coupons that are up for grabs.

However, there is a catch. The retailer will only give the coupons out while supplies last, and they will be handed out to only one in every 100 people who come into the store starting at 5 p.m. on November 27. Coupons will be valid through December 24 — if you manage to get one.

BFAds writes that the JCPenney Black Friday sale will start at 5 p.m.on Thanksgiving, with most stores open until 1 p.m. on Friday, November 28. The sale includes not only a big coupon giveaway, but some other doorbuster deals that are worth checking out.

With over 900 items in this year’s ad, there are fairly good deals in every department. Some of the offers that stand out are small appliances for $9.99 (perfect gift for the first-time apartment dweller on your list), $29 comforter sets, women’s boots for $19.99 and 60 percent of men’s NFL apparel.

For shoppers who can hold off until Friday to do their shopping, JCPenney is offering $20 in bonus cash for every $75 spend in-store from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. on November 28.

JCPenney continues to stay afloat, with the Daily Finance reporting that just six months ago, the company didn’t know if it would last another year. Credit for the upswing in business goes to the company’s online sales, which were up 26.3 percent during the last quarter compared to a year ago. The online sales alone brought in $381 million to the company, thanks to the ability to JCP’s handy online ordering and in-store pickup.
