‘Duck Dynasty’: Phil Robertson’s Odd Ideas About Women’s Restrooms

Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson certainly has a vivid imagination when it comes to what goes on in women’s restrooms.

Robertson was one of the speakers at a political rally at Grace Community Church in Houston. The goal of the event was to get conservative Christian voters to the polls, and many speakers tried to accomplish this by claiming that Christians are being persecuted by lawmakers who want to keep religion out of their law-making.

According to Think Progress, the event was held in Houston because Phil Robertson and others like him oppose the city’s new law that prohibits discrimination against LGBT people. The Duck Dynasty star expressed his concern about a provision of the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) that would protect transgender men and women from being discriminated against when they use public restrooms.

Phil Robertson fears that the provision would allow men like himself to use the women’s restroom, but he reassured women that they can sit on their toilets and apply their makeup in peace.

“For all you ladies, in Texas, trust me when I tell you this. When you’re seated in your restroom, putting on your Maybelline, when I need to take a leak I’m not going there.”

Wonkette pointed out that the name of the political rally becomes rather humorous when you consider Robertson’s colorful bathroom talk.

“Say, did we mention the name of the no-men-peeing-with-ladies prayer rally? That would be ‘I Stand Sunday.’ Because only ladies and homos sit when they pee. That’s in the Bible, you know.”

Many attendees who showed up to hear the Duck Dynasty star speak were spotted wearing shirts that read, “We Reserve The Right To Refuse Service To Homosexuals.” However, Phil Robertson told his audience that Christians who don’t want equal rights for LGBT men and women are the ones who are really being persecuted and discriminated against. According to Mother Jones, he even compared himself and his supporters to Jesus.

“They hated the son of God without reason, and now they hate us.”

LGBT activists responded to the “I Stand Sunday” rally in a very non-hateful way — they spent the afternoon collecting winter clothing for the less-fortunate.

Phil Robertson isn’t the only Ducky Dynasty star who is unhappy with the direction the country is headed. Phil and his family members don’t think that business owners should be forced to serve members of the LGBT community, but they do think that children should be forced to read the Bible. Phil’s son Alan Robertson, who recently compared gay people to Nazis, told CNS News that he believes the Bible should be taught in public schools because “most people don’t go to church anymore.”

He also explained why other religions shouldn’t be taught.

“Now, I understand the modern argument of, well, what about other religions, what about this – teach about all of it. I believe the Bible will always come out as the standard it should be.”

The Duck Dynasty clan also has a money-motivated reason for wanting the Bible to be taught in schools – they’re peddling their own version of the book titled the Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible.
