Meet Will Cornick, Psycho Teen Who Savagely Killed Popular Teacher, Then Shouted ‘Good Times!’

Will Cornick, the 16-year-old son of a local city official in Leeds, England, was named late Monday as the psychopathic killer of popular teacher Ann Maguire, after a judge said that due to the extreme horror of his crime and his life sentence, the juvenile’s identity should no longer be protected.

Once Will Cornck’s name came out, so did chilling details of the weeks leading up to his savage, April 28 stabbing murder of the 61-year-old Maguire, who had taught at Corpus Christie College in Leeds for the past four decades — details that included warning signs that apparently should have been hard to miss, but were not noticed.

Described by teachers as a “model student” when he first entered to the school, Cornick’s personality took a far darker turn after he was diagnosed with diabetes, friends said. His mother said that he began harming himself, and he was described as “depressed” because his medical condition disqualified him for service in Britain’s armed forces.

For reasons that have not become clear, Cornick developed an irrational and unfounded — but what prosecutors called a “deep seated” — hatred for Maguire. Over last year’s Christmas holiday, he exchanged Facebook messages with a school friend, in which he told the pal that he planned to “brutally kill” the Spanish teacher.

“Several weeks later he posted a Facebook message in which he railed against Maguire, decrying her as “the one absolute f*****g bitch that deserves more than death, more than pain and more than anything that we can understand.”

He also posted a dark, black and white sketch of a Grim Reaper-like figure as his Facebook “cover photo.”

Cornick also reportedly told fellow students that there was another teacher he planned to stab to death because she was pregnant, and he hoped “to kill her unborn child,” prosecutors said.

On April 28, Will Cornick brought two knives to school, openly displaying them to another student, and even asking the student to feel the blade to make sure it was sharp.

After savagely, repeatedly stabbing Ann Maguire in front of a packed classroom, Cornick chased her out into the hall, where with the help of a fellow teacher, Maguire took refuge in another classroom. Cornick then returned to his class, held up his hands and shouted, “Good times!” He also told his traumatized classmates that the gory murder gave him a rush of adrenaline.

“Later, in confessing the crime to police, Cornick said that he knew his actions had caused suffering to Maguire’s family, but he said he “couldn’t give a s**t” about their feelings.”

Cornick will serve at least 20 years of his life sentence for murdering Ann Maguire before he is eligible for release under British law.
