Mariah Carey Sings In Rain Rather Than Cancel, Serenades Nick Cannon Memories: ‘My Love Life Is Boring’ [Video]

Determined not to disappoint her legendarily loyal fans, Mariah Carey gazed upon a sea of raincoat-clad audience members and sang her best as she kicked off the Australian leg of her world tour. And although some concert-goers tried to dress up for her appearance in their finest tuxedos and ball gowns, almost the entire audience finally succumbed and put on ponchos or even garbage bags bought at the last minute from clever vendors out to make the most money from Mariah Carey’s rare appearance Down Under, revealed the Brisbane Times.

However, the rain did result in a delay. Staff had to mop the floor several times for the safety of the dancers who opened the set, as well as Mariah herself. She was attired in her famous metallic glove on one hand, with a dazzling mini skirt and shimmering bodice completing the picture. Carey initially had some problems belting above the opening track, but quickly segued into her vibrant voice that carried across the crowded concert arena.

As staff returned with mops between her rendition of “Touch My Body” and the appropriately named “Shake it Off,” Mariah pretended to help. The fans giggled. But then she sang a lyric that made some wonder whether she was remembering her years with Nick Cannon and mourning the end of their romance and marriage, noted the Mirror.

“It’s raining, it’s pouring, my love life is boring me to tears, after all these years,” Mariah sang from Barbara Streisand and Donna Summer’s hit “No More Tears.”

And she mused about the meaning.

“When I was a kid, I was thinking ‘she’s telling it’, but now I know it’s just a song. It’s just songs. I mean, really, or is it deeper than that?”

Although she may be immersed in memories, Mariah has stayed on her Elusive Chanteuse tour. She recently completed concerts in Manila, as shown below.

Mariah and Nick ended their “love life” after six years. Because of their twins, they have attempted to stay cordial. And while Mariah Carey mourns those memories in song, Nick has sought to make light of the past, as the Inquisitr reported.

Cannon defended the decision in a recent appearance on Meredith Viera’s talk show, emphasizing that the twins are not impacted by the split.

“It’s truly just staying focused on family and what’s right and getting through these times and just doing what’s right for the kids. They’re just happy. They love mommy, they love daddy.

“We’ve always been people who are kinda on the go, coming and going, so their life hasn’t changed one bit. We spend holidays together, we do everything that we’re supposed to do together.”
