New Video Game Releases For The Week of November 2, 2014

The flow of new games video games does not show any sign of slowing and this week hits hard with one of the biggest franchises in gaming. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare drops on the console and PC this week alongside several indie darlings on the PlayStation platform, which has seen more indie love in the last few months than any other gaming platform (with the exception of the PC).

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the first Call of Duty game developed by a studio that is not Infinity Ward or Teryarch. While Sledgehammer Games co-developed Modern Warfare 3 alongside Infinity Ward, Advanced Warfare is their first solo effort in the Call of Duty universe. The studio is eager to put their own stamp on the franchise with their own changes, such as a lack of a UI display in favor or a Dead Space-style mechanic where all information is contained on the weapons themselves in game.

The Call of Duty franchise has seen a downward turn in sales and pre-orders over the last few years. The Inquisitr has reported previously that pre-orders for Advanced Warfare were not as high as analysts might have hoped for, but Activision is holding fast that the sales will still be strong based on the multiple ways the game will be available to the public.

Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue is also releasing this week, amongst other new video game releases, as what is one of the last Wii and DS games. It will also release on the Wii U and the 3DS. The movie tie in game developed by Little Orbit.

Telltale also has two major games releasing this week including The Wolf Among Us, which brings the entire five episode season together in one package, along with The Walking Dead: Season Two for the PS Vita.
