‘Halo 5’ Multiplayer Beta Armor Unlocked By Playing ‘The Master Chief Collection’ Revealed
The Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer is coming packed in with Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One. While the beta doesn’t happen until December, 343 Industries provided the first peek at some of the armor that can be unlocked by earning certain in-game achievements in The Master Chief Collection.
IGN was able to make the reveal thanks to a partnership with 343 Industries to report on all things Halo-related first. Some of the armor serves as a call back to the best that Master Chief wore, while others are brand new. The rest are inspired by Elite (Sanghelli) design and what Oni Agent Jameson Locke wears once he becomes a Spartan.

Earning the Achievements necessary to unlock the armor has varying levels of difficulty. Check out the images and descriptions of each below provided by IGN with a bonus explanation of what you need to earn the achievement via Xbox Achievements.
Note that these are early renders for each piece of armor. They likely won’t look quite as shiny when the Halo 5 multiplayer beta launches. The Nightfall armor in particular looks very early and incomplete to me.
Mark VI [GEN1]
DESCRIPTION: Technically obsolete, the Mark VI [GEN1] Mjolnir armor maintains a legendary luster among Spartans and the general public.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Earn the “Your Journey Begins” Achievement in MCC (Unlocks Helmet & Armor)
The “Your Journey Begins” Achievement is earned by completing any campaign mission or a multiplayer match.
Mark VI [GEN1] Scarred
DESCRIPTION: The Mark VI was able to remain functional until all of its triply-redundant auto-repair and bypass nodes failed.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Earn the “Cairo Stations” Achievement in MCC (Unlocks Helmet & Armor)
The “Cairo Station” Achievement is earned by completing the Cairo Station mission in Halo 2.
Helioskrill
DESCRIPTION: The HELIOSKRILL is a work of art crafted by a Sangheili prodigy inspired to test her skill against the best that humanity could muster.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Earn the “Legend” Achievement in MCC (Unlocks Helmet & Armor)
The “Legend” Achievement is earned by completing all four Halo campaigns on Legendary difficulty. If you see someone with this armor, you know they worked hard to earn it.
Nightfall
DESCRIPTION: Spartans with Marine experience prefer NIGHTFALL armor when stationed on inhospitable worlds, due to its best-of-class life support.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Watch the Halo: Nightfall Episode 1 Second Story (Unlocks Helmet)
HOW TO UNLOCK: Watch all 5 episodes of Halo: Nightfall (Unlocks Armor)
That’s pretty self-explanatory. However, it also means it will take five weeks after the launch of Halo: Master Chief Collection to earn this achievement. Halo: Nightfall is a weekly series that adds up to be film length.
