Nicki Minaj Vs. Iggy Azalea: T.I. Says ‘Women Can’t Get Along’

Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea are reportedly bitter rivals. However, T.I. thinks the issues that exist between the rappers is just a gender thing.

Rumors about Minaj’s issues with the Australian rapper surfaced earlier this year at the BET Awards. Although Nicki didn’t point her finger directly in Iggy’s direction, a lot of people believed that Minaj was suggesting that Azalea doesn’t pen her own lyrics. In case you haven’t heard, that’s a serious allegation in the world of hip-hop.

“What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,” she said at one point during the event.

According to Hollywood Life, T.I. weighed in on the matter during an interview at New York’s Gramercy Theater earlier this week. When host Elliott Wilson asked the rapper to discuss the feud between Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea, he offered up a theory that has less to do with hip-hop and more to do with gender issues.

“Women can’t get along,” T.I. said, adding that Azalea “took a lot of motherf**kers’ spots.”

Are the problems between the rappers as simple as that? Assuming there are major problems between the rappers, the sort of drama that sells magazines and generates copious amounts of pageviews, then it may have something to do with respect. As Hollywood Take points out, Minaj just wants female rappers to understand and appreciate the doors she’s opened over the course of her career.

“One thing I’m not is a hater. If somebody is doing something and they did it well, and their song is charting well, then congratulations. I just want female rappers to understand that I’ve kicked in a lot of doors for them and I just would appreciate if they would acknowledge that.”

Right now, Nicki Minaj has more important things to worry about. The rapper is preparing to unleash her highly-anticipated album The Pink Print upon the masses. Although the release date was ultimately pushed back to December, Minaj recently dropped a pair of trailers for the record. You can check out the clip in all its glory below.

Here’s another clip, in case that one wasn’t enough to keep you happy.
