This is a huge move for Lea Michele and Matthew Paetz. Although the two have been quietly dating for months now, Michele has only just begun to make tentative steps in showing off her dating coach boyfriend. Well, now it looks like those days are over and Paetz’s place in her life is set.
Lea made her first public appearance with her boyfriend at Wednesday’s amfAR event in Los Angeles. Both Michele and Paetz seemed happy to pose at their dinner table for photographers, with her arm placed on his leg, and his hand wrapped around her waist.
The two seemed very comfortable with each other as they were snapped talking to Glee and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy. Throughout the whole event, Lea and Matthew laughed and cuddled up close together and seemed to enjoy their night out. Back a year ago, it was easy to say that Lea had seen better days, but now it looks like she’s finally content after experiencing such a devastating blow when her boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith passed away after struggling with heroin addiction.
She even documented the night by snapping a quick photo of their name place cards.

As the Inquisitr reported, Lea made the first big move in formerly introducing Matthew as a presence in her life on her social media account. On their many hikes together, Lea decided to snap a photo of their shadows on the trail and captioned it with, “To love and be loved is to feel the sum from both sides.”
The pair met on Michele’s music video for “On My Way.” They were secretly dating since then, and friends say, “He treats her really well, he’s smart and fun. She’s really happy.”
Last time we heard about this happy duo, they were coming back from vacationing in Capri, Italy and getting really serious. Paetz moved into Michele’s Los Angeles home, but even that move was gradual. A source revealed that this move has been for the better, and only helped the couple progress into a happy and healthy status.
“It just made sense for them to move in cause they spend so much time with one another. He treats her like a queen.”
Although some fans may be a bit upset about Michele moving on from Cory Monteith, over the past few months she has subtly reminded them that she has not forgotten Monteith, and he always has a special place in her heart. On the anniversary of his death, she tweeted a photo of the two of them with the caption.
“We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always.”
Congratulations to the happy couple for defying those that said this was simply just a summer fling.
