Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the holiday marking the birthdate of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. see’s many take a break in the United States today. Here’s what you need to know about what’s open, and what’s closed:
Government offices
Federal, state and county offices will be closed. Some public services such as libraries may be open for limited hours.
Banks
Banks will be closed, as will stock markets.
Malls
Malls will be open their normal hours.
Schools
Schools will be closed.
Supermarkets
Supermakets will be open
Trash service
As normal
Postal service
Post offices will be closed.
Public transport
Buses and trains will run, but some locations will offer a weekend or public holiday timetable. Check with your local provider.
