Did Patrick Swayze Sign His Will? Handwriting Expert Says It’s ‘Highly Unlikely’

Patrick Swayze’s will was allegedly forged by someone that “falsified his signature to inherit his fortune,” according to Radar Online.

The report claims that a “surprise” will was filed earlier this year in a New Mexico court that blindsided some of Patrick Swayze’s relatives.

Peggy Walla, a forensic document and handwriting examiner based in Texas, was asked by Radar Online to examine the validity of this “surprise” will, which was allegedly signed by the Road House actor on July 27, 2009. Walla compared the signature found on the will with three other signatures found on memorabilia that Patrick Swayze autographed. Based on her findings, Walla concluded that it was “highly unlikely” that the same person who autographed the examined memorabilia also signed the questionable will.

“It is highly unlikely that the same person signed the will. It just does not look like a natural signature. Whoever signed it tried to appear like they were sick.”

At the time that the will was signed, Patrick Swayze was dying from pancreatic cancer. A close friend of the family claims that Patrick Swayze “wasn’t functional enough to sign anything” during that particular period of time.

“He was very sick, emaciated and high on an anti-seizure drug… and 10 different medications. Patrick was barely coherent!”

The allegedly forged will left Patrick’s mother, sister, and two brothers completely out of it. The only other person that “made the cut,” according to Radar, was Lisa Niemi’s brother, Eric, who named the co-executor of the estate.

The family friend further stated that Patrick Swayze “didn’t even get along with Eric,” which also caused the family to suspect that foul play was involved.

“”It’s just wrong and none of the family got anything – not a thing. Patrick didn’t even get along with Eric!”

Due to Walla’s findings and conclusions in reference to the will, it has been reported that Patrick Swayze’s family is demanding an investigation to be conducted.

Patrick Swayze was first diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in January 2008. Several reports stated that Patrick only had “weeks to live” when the news of his official diagnosis was first announced in the media. However, Patrick’s doctor told the actor that his situation was “considerably more optimistic” than those reports led many to believe. In early 2009, Patrick Swayze sat down with Barbara Walters in order to set the record straight, stating that he wanted to last “until they find a cure.”

“I’d say five years is pretty wishful thinking. Two years seems likely if you’re going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I’d better get a fire under it.”

On September 14, 2009, nearly two years after his diagnosis, Swayze died from pancreatic cancer with his family at his side, according to CBS News.
