Terrell Owens Fails To Appear In Court, Arrest Warrant Issued

NFL free-agent Terrell Owens was issued an arrest warrant this week after he failed to appear in court over child support payments.

According to Owen spokeswoman Diana Bianchini the wide receiver tried to reschedule his Oct. 24 hearing in Contra Costa County Court because of a televised workout meant to revive his career, a workout which ended up drawing no attention from NFL teams.

Owens is currently seeking to change the terms of his child support in which according to his rep he is currently being forced to pay an amount based on his 2007 Dallas Cowboys earnings which at the time was $12 million per season.

Currently Terrell Owens is not drawing a salary and has been nursing an ACL tear after playing in 14 games for the Cincinnati Bengals last season in which he scored nine touchdowns while completing 72 receptions.

Do you believe child support laws should be changed to reflect a persons yearly income without the need for multiple court appearances?
