Awkward Moment Award: Radio Host Confesses Love For Girlfriend In His Sleep

Talk about an awkward moment. Popular radio personality Tommy Little accidentally told his casual girlfriend that he loves her in his sleep.

According to The Daily Mail, Tommy Little, the host of Nova’s Meshel and Tommy, an Australian radio show based in Melbourne, recounted the embarrassing story of how his girlfriend found out he was in love with her. Speaking with his co-host on the air, Little explained how he sleep-talked his way into one of the most awkward situations of his life.

“If I’ve had a few drinks I get quite loved up,” said Tommy, the 29-year-old radio host. “I remember thinking to myself distinctively, whatever you do, don’t tell her that you’re in love with her.”

Thinking all was well and he hadn’t word-vomited anything awkward or embarrassing to his girlfriend, Tommy Little fell fast asleep. The following morning, Little was awoken by none other than his girlfriend and she wanted to know if he remembered anything he said to her in the middle of the night.

Apparently, Little has a tendency to talk in his sleep, but usually nothing as awkward as a serious, heart-felt confession. His girlfriend informed him: “You like, roused me in your sleep to talk to me, like three times.”

Little had a bundle of conflicting information to tell his woman that night, and it just got more and more awkward as he continued to sleep-talk.

“‘The first time, [I] said ‘I’m not in love with you,'” Tommy said on the air. “The second time I said ‘I think I’m falling in love with you.'”

As the confessions came pouring out of a sleeping Tommy, they became increasingly more definitive. The radio hosts final sleep-talked words were unquestioning.

“How’s this for a deal sealer? Or a world of trouble sealer? I say, ‘I’m in love with you.'”

Little didn’t seem too distressed about admitting his love in the middle of a peaceful slumber, because he knows how to fix the problem.

“What I’m going to do, is I’m going to pretend to be asleep and talk more to apologize for anything I might say in my sleep,” Little said.

Tommy then went on to say that his only fear now is that he’ll accidentally propose to her in his sleep, although his co-host Meshel claimed he’ll have to marry her no matter what, now.

According to News.com.au, Little has admitted that he falls in love “about four times a day,” claiming “you just have to buy me a coffee and I’m in love.”

Little’s awkward moment might not be the worst case of sleep talking, however. A Montana woman recently assaulted her boyfriend for talking in her sleep.
