Maksim Chmerkovskiy On Meryl Davis: ‘She’s A Big Part Of My Life Now’
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis are getting back together, and the Dancing With The Stars partners are preparing themselves for the dating rumors to start all over again.
Despite widespread rumors that Maks and Meryl were dating during their run to the championship in the previous season, the pair denied that they were romantically linked. As the Inquisitr reported, the confusion over their relationship continued even months after the show came to an end, and now it may be kicked into overdrive.
Maks and Meryl will be reuniting to re-live their amazing dance floor chemistry as part of SWAY 2.0 — A Dance Trilogy. The New York based dance production will run for a week just before Christmas, including a number of other Dancing With The Stars alums.
In an interview with WetPaint Entertainment, Maksim Chmerkovskiy said he is thrilled to be back with Meryl Davis, but knows their appearance together will get the rumor mill churning again.
“I know what comes with Meryl and Maks and all the talk and everything else,” he said. “It’s all cute and everything. But she’s a big part of my life now, and vice versa. We’re very close friends, we hang out, we talk, we chat. She wanted to do it back [for the first SWAY] as well, but her schedule didn’t allow for it. Nor did it allow for this time around! We were supposed to do shows Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. So when she was like ‘please, I want to do it, I want to do it,’ we added a Wednesday show just to accommodated her.”
Maks said he’s even gotten to know Meryl’s parents and picked up the tab when’ the came to watch him dance.
“She wanted to do it the first time around. She couldn’t, and her parents flew in,” he said. “We found out looking at the ticket sales. I see these names that I know, and I’m like, ‘Wait, that’s Meryl’s parents. Did we give them the tickets?’ Our security says no, they bought tickets. So I reimbursed their credit card. I called Meryl and said, ‘Please give me your mom’s number, because they did something really silly.’ She said no, they really wanted to, it’s their pleasure, and I’m like no, no no we’ll take care of them. They called Meryl and they said that “you missed out, you should have done it.”
Though both deny that they are dating, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis should get ready for the rumors to start once again.
