Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter V’ Gets Pushed Back, Will Not Be In Stores Tomorow

For fans who were excitedly waiting to get their paws on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V, you will have to wait a little bit longer. Wayne’s album, which was originally supposed to hit stores on Tuesday, October 28, is being pushed back.

According to KarenCivil.com, whose source is Young Money president Mack Maine, fans will have to hold on tight for a Lil Wayne album.

When Wayne first announced the album, he said Tha Carter V would drop at some point in August, but August came and went, and Tha Carter V was nowhere to be seen on the charts. There’s a lot of rumors circulating the album, including a guest spot by Kendrick Lamar.

Fans were sure they would find out if Kendrick was on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V on Tuesday. As the Inquisitr reported, the album’s pre-release launch party was underway in New Orleans.

The fact that the marketing behind the album was in full force before the label decided to stop the production of the physical album is extremely rare. When there’s a delay in an album, it’s usually announced a full three months before the initial expected release date.

It looks like the writing might have been on the wall for Lil Wayne’s new album. When MTV News interviewed the rapper back in the summer, he seemed to be unsure about the release date.

“I’m so not good with that. I think it drops either in September and then we have… Ah I can’t tell you the sneak thing. Anyway, yeah, I think it drops in September or August.”

Wayne continued, “It might drop before then, in July. [Or] August 25 or something like that?”

To say that fans are pretty ticked off about the album delay is an understatement. Here’s a taste of a few reactions.

Prior to that, Wayne said Tha Carter V will be his last album, but he’s said this before.

“I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes, and it’s definitely the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five. I didn’t smile when I said it… I plan on it being my final solo album.”
