Kate Gosselin Having Money Troubles? Jon Gosselin Still Broke

Despite rumors to the contrary, Kate Gosselin of Kate Plus 8 fame claims that her recent yard sale does not indicate any money problems. But Jon Gosselin is still broke and homeless last time anyone caught up with him.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, the reason that Kate Gosselin is unlikely to be in financial trouble is because she recently signed up for a new reality TV series, and she will be receiving a very nice $40,000 per episode. According to an insider, Kate also plans on subjecting her kids to the rigors of having a camera follow them around again, but since TV is her only income, she can’t complain.

“Kate couldn’t turn it down. She loves doing TV, and it’s basically her only source of income. The twins will be going off to college in five years and then she has six more to put through, so she desperately needs these TLC specials.”

Reportedly, Jon Gosselin responded to this idea by wanting a cut of the $40k, and was allegedly blackmailing Kate by saying he publicly proclaim that the “kids hate filming and they are being forced into it.” Needless to say, the penniless Jon has been evicted from his home and Kate is sticking to her guns on the new show.

“Hear me very clearly, if there was another way to singly support eight children, you would not know this name and I would be on an island, and so would they. You would never hear from us again. Having said that, [TV] is a pretty fantastic way to feed my children, keep them in an amazing house, at an amazing school and make memories together.”

Earlier on Saturday, Kate Gosselin’s yard sale took place, which consisted of old clothes and toys from her children. But critics slammed the yard sale, saying the Gosselin family should donate the objects to charity rather than put items up for sale at a consignment shops.

Rumors also suggested that the yard sale indicated that Kate was in a financial bind just like Jon. But the Gosselin family insisted via Twitter that there was nothing to the rumors. Instead, it sounds like they are cleaning out their house.

“Fyi: Yard sales are NOT $ makers. Purging is a great organizational skill, especially after construction/losing major storage space.”
