Tyler Posey Not Marrying Childhood Sweetheart After All
Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey and fiancée, Seana Gorlick, have finally called it quits. Posey and his girlfriend, who have been together for 11 years, have called off their engagement and their relationship.
Tyler broke the news to Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 22, at a cocktail event honoring Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Nikki Reed for their work with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Posey did not confirm the reason that he and Gorlick have split. Tyler added that he was doing okay, but that he does not know if he and Seana will remain friends.
Posey was so broken up about the announcement that he had to leave the ASPCA event.
“I’m just gonna get it out there because I get sad talking about it. I’m just gonna get it out there now so that hopefully people start hearing about it.”
The couple was last photographed together two months ago on Instagram, according to E! News. They were dressed up for an engagement and posing together, with no sign of any unhappiness.
Tyler proposed to Seana while they were on vacation in Hawaii during the summer of 2013. He gushed over her and the event at San Diego Comic-Con.
“I couldn’t really put it into words when I was that young but I always had this really strong connection to her and it’s just been something I can’t really explain other than I want to marry you and be with you forever.”
In September, The Inquisitr reported about the obstacles Posey and Gorlick faced when they announced their engagement. Tyler and Seana have been together since Tyler was 12-years-old. Despite a pre-engagement relationship that lasted longer than most Hollywood couples’ marriages, critics disapproved of how young the couple are. Posey himself celebrated turning 23-years-old this month on October 18. Posey and Gorlick’s early responses to critics were hopeful that others would not judge their relationship by typical standards.
“I understand why people who don’t know us personally think we are too young. People who know us are like ‘Yeah that makes sense.'”
The Teen Wolf fan base has already taken to social media to show support for Posey. MTV News first reported the story and shared fans’ early reactions yesterday.
