Maks Chmerkovskiy Addresses Meryl Davis Dating Rumors, Talks Val’s Relationship With Janel Parrish
Maks Chmerkovskiy just can’t escape questions about the nature of his relationship with his former Dancing with the Stars partner, Olympian ice dancer Meryl Davis. But now he’s not just being asked about his own love life — everyone wants to know what’s going on between his brother Val Chmerkovskiy and Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish.
Maks Chmerkovskiy recently talked to People magazine about reuniting with Meryl Davis on the dance floor. Maks has asked Meryl to join him for one performance at his dance show SWAY – A Dance Trilogy in Westbury, New York. On December 17, Chmerkovskiy and Davis will delight fans by reproducing a few of their awe-inspiring Dancing with the Stars routines. SWAY – A Dance Trilogy will run December 17 through Decemeber 21, and it will also feature performances by Val Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd, Artem Chigvintsev, and various other Dancing with the Stars pros. Val’s season 19 partner, Zendaya, will make a special appearance on December 21.
While he was talking about to People about the show, of course Maks was asked if he and Meryl are dating. He gave what seems like a very honest answer to the relationship question.
“We aren’t dating, and I don’t think we will. She is very special. I care very deeply for Meryl. Our friendship is where it will be for many years. She is awesome to spend time with.”
Chmerkovskiy went on to explain why Davis is such a great friend.
“So, with Meryl, she totally balances me out. She’s like this little thing, and I’m like 10 miles of inferno, but she can put her hand on me and say, ‘Calm down. Everything is fine.’ And then everything calms down.”
Maks isn’t the only Chmerkovskiy who does a great job convincing the Dancing with the Stars audience that he has romantic feelings for his celebrity partner. All season long there have been whisperers that Val Chmerkovskiy is dating Janel Parrish. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Janel recently broke up with her boyfriend of a year and a half, Payson Lewis. Soon after the split, Janel shared an Instagram photo of herself enjoying what appeared to be a double date with Val, Maks, and Meryl.
Maks said that Janel has a positive effect on his brother.
“She calms him down. She makes sure she doesn’t react to things or get thrown by them.”
However, when he was asked if Val Chmerkovskiy and Janel Parrish are dating, he refused to give a yes or no answer.
“That’s going to be their call – their thing to talk about.”
According to E! News, Val Chmerkovskiy recently talked about why he took Janel Parrish out to dinner with Maks and Meryl.
“Meryl is visiting my brother at the moment and so they were out. I just wanted her to have some conversation with Meryl. I feel like she’s the reigning champ and we are getting into the mix of things and the season’s getting stressful. I wanted her to pick her brain, see how it was last season for her and how to deal with a Chermkovskiy!”
Maks Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis were accused of faking their chemistry to fool fans, and now Val and Janel are being accused of the same thing. However, Maks’ ex-fiancé, Karina Smirnoff, explained to Us Weekly that a big part of Dancing with the Stars is convincing the audience that they’re seeing an amazing love story unfolding in front of them.
“When you’re on the dance floor…you want to create that story, you want to create something where people believe that what you demonstrated was real. And [Maks and Meryl] were able to do that.”
Maks has even labeled his relationship with Meryl a great “showmance.” However, obviously it developed into a great friendship.
