‘Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee’: ‘Seinfeld’ Stars ‘Crackle’ With Tension [Video]

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is coming soon and starring Seinfeld cast members Jerry Seinfeld and Michael Richards. Continuing with the concept of the “show about nothing,” Seinfeld looks to be doing it again with an old friend.

The preview clip released today gives us a brief glimpse of the two actors as they discuss business — and it escalates quickly.

The clip begins with a panning overhead view of New York City in the daytime. Jerry Seinfeld is then seen on the sidewalk getting a text message.

“Dick Corcoran needs to see you right away.”

Suddenly, Seinfeld begins walking more briskly, yelling for a taxi, momentarily stopping to admire a black car before crossing the street. He approaches the taxi, opens the door, and literally dives into the back seat. A quick cut later and the taxi speeds off.

The Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee promo continues to show its comedic roots when Seinfeld approaches a helicopter. Once again, he opens the door and dives in, before another quick cut shows the helicopter lifting off.

Not afraid to do a little subliminal marketing, we also clearly see signs for HSBC, McDonald’s, and a billboard promoting another comedy series, Somebody’s Gotta Do It, which premiered on October 8 this year.

Arriving at the office, Seinfeld finally encounters Michael Richards, who sports a pencil mustache and slicked-back hair. There is no doubt from his body language and voice who it is. Richards introduces himself as Dick Corcoran, the President of Crackle, but insists that Seinfeld call him Dick.

Seinfeld asks about the show and Richards tells him right away that Crackle is dead because Snap and Pop are keeping them down, obviously poking fun at the mascots from Kellogg’s Rice Krispies. The promo ends with Corcoran telling Seinfeld he has to take out their competitors, emphasizing his point with a cigar.
